Shajara Ensemble (Arabic for "Tree" - Middle East, Syria) draws on musical and cultural styles ranging from global music, instrumental folk, immersive ambient music, and electro-acoustic post-rock. The musicians' diverse cultural roots interact within a practice that conceives of music (sound) not only as an artistic expression but also as a tool for social, political, and cultural resilience.

The project aims to introduce into the current music scene a more reflective dimension on the concept of sound, not necessarily oriented towards easy immediate enjoyment and purely aimed at its commodification.
